Hi, I've been looking for a tutorial to get started with playbasic.
Although I can find some, they all seem to require previous knowlege of Basic, something I don't have. Whilst, yes, I did 2 years at uni on computer science, I can't remember any Basic and thus can't use the tutorials.

Is there a tutorial anywhere that teaches PlayBasic from the ground up?

Many thanks,

Chris Smith

Not really, which is a known  problem!.   So at this point it's mostly done via experimentation.  Examine/altering examples to see the effect of any changes.

What language(s) did you do at UNI ?

Some QBasic (I have a massive grey textbook still) and some C++.
Can't remember any of either.

Yeah, can I learn PlayBasic via QBasic or are they entirely different?

While their certainly not identical, the core rules of Basic are fairly universal.

So any experience you have another Basic dialect will mostly transfer across. Not everything mind you. But enough to be able move between variants with some ease.

Try these for starters

Thanks!

That Cls threw me, not used to having to assign a colour.
