Hi all,

Sorry if this has been posted a thousand times and my feeble search attempts didn't spot it ;) ... but will PB LE run on Vista Home Premium 'out of the box' or do I need to install the old DX 9 redist before hand ?

Cheers,
LW.

Thanks. But I thought Vista shipped with both DX10 and DX9L (and 9L is 9.0Ex which is 9.0c)? I don't know alot about this however, but just wanted to be sure I downloaded the right redist.

Related question, will anyone wanting to run a game developed in PB on Vista have to install some other DX bits also for it to run?

Cheers,
LW.

Hi,

I just installed LE on Vista, and ran a few of the demos, no problems so far. Cool. I looked at PB a while back, seems it has moved on and is active, good times. Kev, I remember you from the old DB forums? Merlin forums maybe. Anyway.. hope you are still playing the drums.

Cheers,
LW.

I don't have a Vista install atm.  So i'm not up to date with just want DX implementations comes natively with it.   However,  if the dx9 flavor it ships with has fall back (includes old version of dx also)  compatibility, then apps would run as normal, if it doesn't, then users would need to install  DX9.
