anyone know if playbasic can create an .exe with media attached inside it?

    Updated:        loading from memory and resource binding was added in about 2012

You have to use something like Molebox to do this - see my SOTB demo. However, as I've recently discovered the version of Molebox I have doesn't appear to work properly on Win98SE machines. :(

i don't see how the sotb is an example of the media attached to it. I mean attaching is that u don't see the media. Instead it's attached inside the .exe file. Maybe I click on the wrong link??

Yep you clicked on the link to the CodeTank version - if you scroll down a bit, I also give a link to the .EXE only version


Here is the .EXE only version
New update (packed .EXE - may not work with Win98SE.)

Update shows -
punching (standing and crouching punch)
changing direction animation
animated enemies (non-interactive)
"In" arrows (non-interactive)

Whilst the intro is in the pack, it causes PB to crash in the .EXE, so is not visible. This appears to be caused by problems with SpriteAlpha - I'm going to have to dig deeper to discover what's causing this as it works fine in the IDE.

Nice...I see what you mean. Molebox is a bit pricy thou.....
