Apple: Mac growth crushes PC growth

"Mac sales grew 27 percent year-over-year, compared to 10 percent for PCs"

Statistics wrangling, unfortunately. Say that you have one Mac on the market. The next year you have two. That's a 100% increase! ;)

It's impossible to say how big the installed base for non-Mac PCs are, but an estimate from nVidia (a couple of years old, I think) was some 120 - 140 million graphics accelerators of their brand, on the market. So if the PC market grows by 10%, it's probably more units than the 27% increase for Mac sales.

Maybe it is statistics wrangling, but surely you cannot ignore Apple any longer in ANY market. They just seem to have a device to appeal to everyone in some way or another. Microsoft has already announced; albeit unofficially, Windows 8 to be released in 2012. Even Nintendo has taken notice. They are quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with.
