The above tables are an attempt the show in a simple summarised way the past releases and patches for PlayBasic and PlayBasicFX.

It is hoped that it will prove helpful to those that are unclear on upgrade requirements.

The information is taken from the upgrade threads but may not be 100% accurate (if at all); hopefully Kevin will be able to correct any inaccurate info provided.

cheers, debug.

not really,  it gives people the idea that upgrades each need to be stacked on top of each other. they don't !

 Upgrading,

  Step #1

        - Is your version of PlayBasic older than PBV1.63 w2 ?  YES or NO

              > YES -  Then you'll first need to install PBV1.63w2 upgrade first..

              >  NO - Do nothing, jump to Step #2

  Step #2

        - Download Latest Patch and install it.

  Step #3

         - Done.

hmmm, ok, it wasn't as clear as I'd hoped it would be and as you say, is probably even more confusing than your existing instructions.

I just thought it may help anyone that (for whatever reason) may have wanted to install up to any patch level, they would then be able to quickly see which base release they needed to have already installed - oh well...  :(

sorry if I may have stepped over the bounds and made your life more frustrating.

However..... :D ;)

Maybe all the recent questions, etc. on versions and patching, etc. has made you revisit the possibility of just creating a single setup distribution that contains everyting required for the latest version and no longer run with this clunky and confusing patch update method...  ;D

FYI, it seems that Blitz Research came to this conclusion for their products for a little while now. hint, hint.

Anyway, sorry again for being a pain, and keep on keeping on.

Cheers, debug.
