Ageia building PCI Express version of PhysX card

  All I can say is why bother, performance wise it'd only make sense If it's maxing out the PCI bandwidth. But I guess, PCI slots are getting rarer.  So perhaps some punters only option is to go PCIX

Yep. It's very much right. For example, my motherboard has only two PCI slots and both are already in use, so a PCIe physics card is the only option. Some TV card manufacturers are also creating PCIe models. Looks like sooner rather than later most of the add-on cards will be PCIe and it will get quite difficult to get a PCI model. Motherboards will most likely also offer PCIe only in the relatively near future. It's basically the same situation which we had during the transition from ISA to PCI slots.
