CopyStripH + Cameras?

I'm using CopyStripH to acheive a warping text effect, however, it seems that it only works when it is not being capturedToScene and being drawn by camera...Is it not supported? If so I'd like to request it.

Would rendering the warped text to another image then drawing the 2nd image work?
